Gail Huggins is an Apollo House resident and neighbor to Mark and Jez. She is played by Emily Bruni.
Gail is a somewhat no-nonsense and firm woman who is a manager of a Mexican restaurant called Banditos. She is initially unaware that Jeremy is having an affair with her long-term girlfriend Elena, and has no qualms offering Mark a job at her restaurant.
In the episode The Party, Elena reveals to Jeremy that Gail writes her poetry although she does not do so as often since the beginning of their relationship. She toys with the idea of breaking up with Gail to Jeremy's delight but this is sidelined when Gail proposes to Elena, who delightedly accepts.
In the series 6 Finale Das Boot, a drunken and depressed Jeremy also tries to visit Elena secretly before her wedding and nearly runs Gail over in his bid to escape, having wrested control of the car from Mark who does not know how to drive.
Jeremy has conflicted feelings towards Gail. After going boating and accidentally knocking her into the water he becomes convinced he subconsciously wants to kill her, a notion which Mark dismisses as Jeremy promptly rescued Gail, who cannot swim. Unaware of Jeremy's feelings, Gail is extremely grateful and invites Jeremy to her and Elena's wedding.
Shortly after, Elena and Jeremy's affair is exposed, it is unclear whether or not she and Elena remain together or if they even left the country to stay with Gail's sister.
A few years later, she is still seen living at Apollo House, occasionally attending the association meetings (Chairman Mark). It is also revealed she now hates Mark because of his friendship with Jeremy and makes his working life difficult, ultimately firing him for attempting to urinate in a vat of soup as protest.

- A recurring joke in series 6 is Elena repeatedly remarking how intelligent Gail is, but simultaneously unaware of Elena's dalliances with Jeremy.
